Drunk in Luv

Hi there! 

Santa Cruz is heating up so I grabbed some watermelon for the Sakara Drunk in Luv Cocktail. So refreshing and yummy!

For this drink you will need: 1 cup of watermelon juice, a few pieces of cubed watermelon, 1 shot of rum, ice and some fresh mint. Luckily I had everything except the watermelon. Tip for picking out a top-notch melon, give them a quick knuckle tap and listen. The more hollow they sound the better. 

Once you have everything, place your watermelon cubes, mint and ice into your glass. Then stir together the watermelon juice and shot of rum. Pour that mixture over the ice, mint and cubes. 

Voila! A refreshing lightly sweet cocktail for those hot summer days!

The Comte St. Germain’s Poison

Hello my darlings!

My second drink for Outlander is the
The Comte St. Germain’s Poison, basically a Gin Zesper,which was quite refreshing. Thank you Chef Theresa Carle-Sanders!

I have always loved the smell of St. Germaine Liqueur, flowery and sweet, and the bottle that it comes in... so interesting and almost feels like an old relic from a time long past. Plus the name is perfect for our St. Germaine! What a great idea to create a drink inspired by the Comte. As the Outlander Kitchen says, "Poison never tasted so good!"

Simply take:
Gin – 1½ oz
St. Germaine Elderflower Liqueur – ½ to ¾ oz
Tonic – to taste
Ice and a Lemon Twist

 Pour the gin and St. Germaine over ice into your glass then add the sparkling tonic and the lemon twist. Use as much of the tonic as you see fit. I found that the gin is a bit powerful so I needed some extra bubbles!

Adding in the lemon zest was a nice touch and I even squeezed a bit of the lemon into the drink. Like I said, this one was strong but refreshing. Wonderful for a sunny Saturday!

A Bath in Each

I love bathes....the porcelain (hopefully), bubbles and hot water completely warming you straight to the bone. On our trip I came across some awesome tubs! Each so different and each worth a try! Here are a few pics of my favorites! I didn't know I was gonna write a post about them so the photos aren't that great sorry!

Ballynahinch 

Simple and modern bath with greenish water...hopefully straight from a well ha ha!

Dromoland

Shower/Bath with half door, less modern but big and comfy! The more European half doors were strange at first but even with a bath it was nice to have one side open...so I could still drink my tea! 

Hayfield Manor

Shower/Bath with half door as well. Bathroom was small but the tub was nice and big and I loved the marble. 

The K Club

 This was the last tub on our trip and the biggest! Lots of items to try including some nice salts. Plus there was even a rubber ducky! I loved the faucet...it looked like a complicated old phone and there was a tray for other items...but I didn't spend that long in the bath he he!

 

Such a fancy bathroom I had to try out my new ballet skirt!
