Lou Pines Special

Hey there!
We found some ginger beer so we thought it would be fun to make the Lou Pine's Special!

This drink was pretty simple...no smooshed cherries he he! Just pour in 2 ounces of Black Seal Rum, 1 ounce blood-orange juice, 1/2 ounce moonshine and 6 ounces of ginger beerAdd a lime wedge for decoration and you're done! Perfect for anyone lupine! I apologize for not having a lime wedge handy but this was a spontaneous drink he he! Kinda funny because I really liked it better than the Stake House Special.
The ginger really made it more flavorful and fizzy! Such a great mix with the moonshine and blood-orange! I will have to add this to my favorite drink list, right next to the Necromancer. Here is a link to a better quality video. I should up my video blogging skills ha ha! So sad!
Here's my moody wolf pic he he. Should have added some more leather! Here's lookin at you Alcide *wink*!
Thanks! -Bunny

Honest Anxiety

Hi there!
I can easily say that I don't know anyone without some sort of anxiety, including myself. We all just deal with it indifferent ways. So I wanted to share something that has been working for me....cardio.

I know I know...you've heard this before....well I was right there with you. I never really committed to exercise, until now.
__________________________________________
So after years of going through numerous psychologists, psychiatrists, medications and a short visit to a behavioral facility I found that nothing was really working for my anxiety. There was still this crazy emptiness and panic. Then, due to our looming nuptials and an urge to lose some baby fat, I started to add daily cardio to the mix.

It did take time for me to settle into a good routine...slowly increasing my time on the elliptical. After awhile I noticed that I was sleeping better and worrying less. Then it began to feel strange... i was looking forward to cardio....to being sweaty...to feeling accomplished. Who was I? I wanted to go as fast as I possibly could....take out all the nerves. Who was this girl? I even started Barre which was so outside of my comfort zone....but it wheeled results both mentally and physically.
I knew that I wanted to keep it up and be a healthier person, so I spoke with my Reese Witherspoon looking Physician about lowering my meds and trying this more natural approach. I mean...she haaaad often mentioned that exercise was a great choice ha ha!

I kept it up, but as it so often happens, I got busy and certain non-exercise things came up. At first I didn't understand why I was feeling sad...why my anxieties were making a come-back. I thought that perhaps I was just exhausted or sick.....but that wasn't it. I was unhappy, uncomfortable and panicking. Then it suddenly dawned on me...I had not been working out.
Total face-palm moment. I wasn't giving my body the natural dopamine and endorphins it craved. I could feel my legs craving the movement. That's when it really clicked for me. Exercise was aiding in my mental health.

__________________________
So, anxiety will always be part of me, but now I know how to help myself. Exercise has already made an impact in my life. Hopefully, as I keep growing into this stronger new person, I won't need anything...extra...just some time being active!
It's really a beautiful thing and I say to anyone having issues, please give it a try. It will be hard at first but it is worth the effort. Your mind will thank you.

How we got engaged

On Nov. 8th we were planning to go up to my parents’ house...or so I thought. Instead we went south. After a while we made a circle ending up in Gilroy. Craig of course wouldn't say anything about our obvious detour. There are only a few places I know in the Monterey/Gilroy area so I was quickly blindfolded. We drove for a bit and then the engine stopped and Craig took off the blindfold revealing an adorable bungalow at the Monterey Vision Quest/Wild Animal Park. We had visited before, just for a tour about the animals and facility. I really loved the huge elephants and zebra.
I knew something was up...but I wasn't 100% sure…so I decided to go with the flow! LOL! We spent time in the bungalow and then ventured out to meet a few of the Zoo animals and to feed the elephants carrots for their bed time ritual.
I thought maybe he would propose at dinner, instead he surprised me during the elephant bedtime, proposing in front of Butch the 10 thousand pound bull elephant. It was so perfect. Trainers brought me a little gift basket and card, and as I was reading, beside me Craig knelt on one knee. I was so nervous and really didn’t know what to do, besides say YES!
Here is a short video capturing the proposal!

Fun fact: Craig asked if he could have Butch hand me the ring…but apparently in the past he had eaten two rings and they only got one back. So that was not an option.
The Monterey Wild Animal Park takes care of animals that need help and a better life. Often they used to preform and are retired. Staff spend lots of time creating a fulfilling life and forever home for them. I love seeing them flourish! Thank you Craig for creating this beautiful memory!

Here is what I posted on FB:
