Elizabethan Lemon Cakes

Continuing with the Game of Thrones cookbook I decided to make Elizabethan Lemon Cakes, Sansa's Favorite! 
These cakes...or cookies turned out to be completely delicious!

These cookie-cakes were rather simple to make. Start by mixing the flour and sugar. Then folding in the butter, lemon zest and eggs (1 egg, 2 egg yolks). 

  Mix thoroughly and add more flower if needed. 
The dough took some time to mix to make it easy to shape. The recipe suggests that you can add some water or lemon juice if the dough is a bit dry. 
Roll dough into balls about an inch across and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 15 minuets, until slightly golden, then remove from oven and let cool. 

Start mixing your confection sugar and milk to make the icing. Once the cookies have cooled, lightly drizzle frosting on top and TADA!! Yummy yummy lemon cakes!
Sansa would be proud!
